An AC Brake Motor is a three-phase or single-phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motor integrated with an Electro-Magnetic Disc Brake (A.C.). When power is switched off, the rotating mass stops instantaneously instead of coasting, providing precise and safe stopping.

In a normal motor, the rotor takes time to stop after power is switched off. In an AC Brake Motor, the disc brake is mounted directly on the motor shaft at the non-driving end, so the rotating part stops instantly with no lever or linkage required.

It is available from 0.25 H.P. to 20 H.P. (0.18 to 15 kW) in three-phase, and 0.25 H.P. to 3 H.P. in single-phase, with speed options of 750, 1000, 1500, and 3000 RPM.

They are used in material handling, conveyors, hoists, cranes, machine tools, elevators and escalators, and the textile, packaging, and printing industries, anywhere quick, controlled stopping and high safety are required.

It comes standard with Class F insulation, TEFC enclosure, and IP 44 or IP 55 protection (depending on RPM). Class H insulation is also available on request at extra cost.

Yes. The standard supply is 415V ±5%, 3-phase, 50Hz ±3%, but motors can also be supplied for 220V, 380V, 460V, or 525V at 50Hz or 60Hz on customer request.
